Why did we made this US Chess Rated Event?
-
- Participants will receive a US Chess Rating: If they are playing in their first tournament, they will obtain their US Chess rating. The US Chess rating is the ranking system used in chess to determine a player’s skill level. The higher the rating, the stronger the player.
-
- Can Play in Any Chess Tournament in the Country: Once they have a membership and rating, participants can play in any rated chess tournament in the country
-
- An Asset for Jobs and Colleges: An increasing number of jobs and colleges consider a good chess rating as a strength for candidates. Many colleges, such as Sacred Heart University, are recruiting chess players with high US Chess ratings and offering them scholarships.
